The best new movie trailers and TV show teasers for upcoming streaming titles

The Takedown

This buddy-cop action flick stars Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte as newly reunited French cops tasked with uncovering a much bigger case than initially thought. If you look past the trailer’s terrible dub, this could be worth watching, especially if you’re a fan of Sy’s comedic work. Catch it on Netflix from May 6.

Narrated by Barack Obama, this series looks at the world’s national parks and the wildlife therein. The team behind Blue Planet II produces it, so expect plenty of glorious shots and heartbreaking/uplifting narratives. Catch it on Netflix from April 13.

The Pentaverate

Mike Myers’ genius returns in this Netflix comedy series about a “benevolent” cult that influences global events. Myers stars as at least eight characters, while Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, and Debi Mazar also feature. The six-episode limited series starts streaming on Netflix from May 5.

Tokyo Vice

Jake Adelstein dreams of becoming a crime reporter in Tokyo but gaining the trust and respect of those ruling the city is more challenging, and more dangerous than it sounds. Tokyo Vice is based on Adelstein’s own account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police and stars Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe. Catch it on HBO Max from April 7.

They Call Me Magic

Earvin Magic Johnson is getting his own documentary, interviewing the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Samuel L. Jackson, and Larry Bird, among others. The flick covers Magic’s rise to fame, his retirement in 1991, and his activism thereafter. Catch it on Apple TV Plus from April 22.

Halo The Series

Finally, Paramount Plus has released the second Halo trailer just ahead of the show’s launch on March 26. The show stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Jen Taylor as Cortana, and Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey.
